The Rutgers Life Sciences History Project

Rutgers University has a rich history in biomedical research and teaching for more than a century. Rutgers investigators have made important and high impact discoveries in medicine ranging from the discovery of life-saving antibiotics to the development of new therapies for the treatment of genetic diseases. Rutgers faculty have also trained thousands of scientific investigators and health professionals through our graduate and medical programs dating from the 1800's.

We are constructing a Chronology of the Life Sciences which traces our heritage from the beginnings of Rutgers to our present day activities. This growing web site contains numerous links to former students, faculty, departments and their accomplishments. Help us collect and preserve our history for the benefit of our students, our alumni and the citizens of New Jersey.
