Job opportunities
We currently are offering the following research opportunities:

Laboratory researcher:
We are looking for a laboratory researcher who is willing to work part time for 3 or more days per week (15-25 hours/week). The work is primarily related to ongoing research projects, but minimal lab managerial functions including maintenance of fly tissue culture cells and fly stocks will be part of the responsibilities. Job requirements are basic molecular biology and biochemistry skills, reliability, and the ability to work in a small, highly motivated team.

Graduate Student:
We currently have one more graduate student position available and still are accepting applications for lab rotations for 2008/09. Candidate graduate students will work on publication-related projects, which are designed to expose the student to the future research she or he might conduct in our laboratory. The size of our group will give you optimal training and a lot of interaction with the lab members during your rotation.

Undergraduate Research Student:
We are accepting applications from undergraduate students for lab research. Undergraduate research students will contribute to research publications and will conduct the same types of experiments as full-time laboratory members. Students who fully commit to their research projects will be supported and encouraged to obtain research fellowships and awards. Undergraduates in our lab have competed successfully for Aresty research fellowships, Summer Undergraduate Fellowships as well as the New Jersey Council on Cancer Research Summer fellowship. In 2009, the first honors thesis from our lab was graded with highest honors. The student also won a prize in the MBB poster session. In return, we expect reliability, self-motivation, and the willingness to put in more than the minimal research time. We therefore strongly encourage students to apply as early as possible in their career (beginning of their 3rd year or even earlier).
