The DLS Helpdesk has recently upgraded its Webmail Interface and now it closely resembles Microsoft Outlook. This new version of Outlook Webmail is faster and has many new features. Below you will see a list of all the new features and how to access them.

Out of Office:

Webmail allows you to set your out of office message, it now gives you the option to set a start and end date as well as the option to set a message for internal emails (@biology) and a separate message for external emails (@hotmail, @yahoo, etc).

This can be accessed by going to Options in Webmail on the upper right hand corner and clicking on Out of Office Assistant.

Junk E-Mail Filter:

You can manage your junk mail filter and Rules from Webmail as well. Here you will see your safe and blocked senders list that you already have setup in Outlook. This is also accessed through Options and works the same way as the Outlook Junk Mail Filter & Under Rules.

Change DLS Password:

Webmail now provides all DLS users the option to change their DLS password. This password includes what you use for email, logging into the desktops in the DLS and wireless and DLS VPN connections. Once you change the password there it changes it for everything. Also accessed Through Options and Change Password.

Mobile Device Remote Wipe:

For anyone who has a handheld device with their DLS email account setup using Exchange has access to use this feature. You can remove devices that you are no longer using, as well as add new devices. If you forget your device password, you can access it here. If you lose your phone or mobile device, you can initiate a remote device wipe to protect your information.

Access to other Mail Boxes:

If you currently have access to other users mailboxes or have access to a department mailbox, you can now view that mailbox in Webmail. Simply log into webmail and on the upper right corner you will see your name and a down arrow. Click on the arrow and you will be prompted to type the mailbox you want to access.

Access to Personal and Shares Drive Files:

Webmail gives you access to your files on your Personal "M" drive, any lab drives you may have access to and the public drive. To access you click on Documents, from the list on the bottom left hand side:

Once that opens up you want to click on Open Location and that is where you will type the full path of the drive you want to access (\\nel-data2\sharename$ or \\nel-macsrv2\sharename$) then click open and you will see all your files and folders listed.

Address Book:

You can access the GAL (Global Address List) from webmail, just like you would in Outlook or Entourage. You can do an easy search as well by typing the name in the upper right hand side.

If you click on the address book icon you can also view the entire Global Address list.

Calendar:

You can view your calendar as well as add and remove to it. All your changes will  be reflected in Outlook and Entourage. You also have the option of creating a new calendar which will also appear in Outlook. This can be accessed by clicking on Calendar, and to create a new one Click on Create new Calendar.
