This setup will allow you to use Microsoft Outlook 2003/2007 and Entourage in Exchange mode from outside of the DLS without having to connect to the DLS VPN. Exchange mode allows you to have access to all your emails on the server/ It provides you with real time access to full calendar, GAL ( Global Address List), and all contacts, which unlike IMAP and POP3 email only gives access to email. Outlook Already setup as exchange?
If you already have Outlook setup as exchange but currently connect outside of the DLS to the VPN to check email click on the link below for detailed instructions

Below are instructions on setting up a NEW Outlook account, if you currently have outlook setup as IMAP or POP please first contact the DLS Helpdesk for assistance.

Entourage Exchange Setup
If you already have Entourage as exchange setup follow the below, if not please first setup Entourage in exchange mode then follow the steps below. If you currently have it setup as POP3 or IMAP first contact the DLS Helpdesk.
1. Open entourage, click on the Entourage top menu, and select "Account
Settings"
2. Select the exchange DLS email account and click "Edit"
3. Verify the settings on the "Account Settings" tab are correct (most
importantly the last two):
Account Name: username@dls.rutgers.edu
Name: (Your name as you would like it to appear on outgoing email
E-mail Address: username@dls.rutgers.edu
Account ID: username
Domain: life_sciences
Password: **********
Exchange Server:
dls.rutgers.edu/exchange/username@dls.rutgers.edu

4. Click "Ok", close the Accounts window and restart Entourage.
