PhysiologyThe Molecular Biosciences program offers excellent opportunities for research and study in the areas of Cell Physiology and Integrative Biology. Students can choose to enter the Joint UMDNJ/Rutgers Joint Program in Physiology and Integrative Biology (PIB). The PIB program is designed to provide training at the interface of genomics, cell biology and organismal physiology. Specific topics include molecular endocrinology, cardiovascular research, cancer biology, membrane structure and signal transduction, and the physiological bases of diseases. Most students will enter PIB by applying to the Consolidated Programs in Molecular Biosciences. Direct admissions to PIB will also be considered for students with advanced background (e.g. students transferring from other universities with advanced courses or M.S. degree). In this case, certain credit hours can be transferred toward the graduate degree. In addition, a program leading to a Master of Sciences in Physiology and Integrative Biology will be offered in PIB, to meet the needs of students with particular interests. |
