Spearheaded by Drs. Martha Haviland and Anne Carr-Schmid, the Division of Life Sciences (DLS) was named a Rutgers Giving Day partner, signifying its commitment to raise support for our students in the Life Sciences. On Rutgers Giving Day, the DLS will have its own campaign page and our recruited ambassadors (that include alumni, students, faculty, and staff) will spread the word through their social media networks about our new initiative on our students’ behalf, The Life Sciences Student Support Fund.

Undergraduate research is an important part of our life science majors’ educational experience. The opportunity to receive training as a research scientist through conducting original research provides a strong foundation in preparation for pursuing graduate school and research careers. The Life Sciences Student Support Fund serves to further the professional development of our student researchers through funding opportunities for them to  attend scientific conferences and present their research findings. It will also financially assist students with aspects of the application process for graduate programs.  A portion of the funds will also be available in the form of an emergency fund for our undergraduate students, should specific urgent financial needs arise.

Gifts to the Life Sciences Student Support Fund will provide financial support to our undergraduate students in the form of scholarships and stipends. Please join us in investing in our students and in science! https://go.rutgers.edu/629jfs3q
