The Office of Undergraduate Instruction is excited to have Kristen Goodrich join our office as a Senior Academic Program Coordinator! Kristen, a Rutgers alumna (Cook College ’96), comes to us from the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, where she most recently worked as a Career Management Specialist in the Office of Academic Programs. Kristen will be providing administrative and academic advising support for the Cell Biology & Neuroscience, Molecular Biology & Biochemistry, and Genetics departments and majors!
Kristen believes in a holistic approach to academic advising and wants to support not only a student’s academic progress, but their physical, emotional, and social well-being. She knows how important it is for students to build a supportive community during their time at Rutgers and make sure they have access to the resources they need to succeed. Her years of experience in career counseling has been an important aspect of her student advising. Kristen was a transfer student as well as a commuter while at Rutgers and needed to work part-time to support herself through school, so she understands students facing the same situation and will do everything in her power to help make their transition as smooth as possible. She welcomes students to come meet with her in Room A110 in the Nelson Laboratories even it if is just to say hi and grab some candy from her office. Kristen is married with two kids, her son just started middle school and her daughter is starting college at the University College of Dublin in Ireland. Some interesting facts about Kristen is she loves all things Star Wars, is an amateur birder, works part-time for the NJ/NY Gotham FC (women’s professional soccer team in the NWSL), and is passionate about animals. Fun fact: if Kristen wasn’t working at Rutgers, she wanted to become a herpetologist.
